What is the purpose of the Near West Quality of Life Plan?
The Near West quality of life plan is a living guide that presents a strategic vision to enhance the livability, opportunities, vitality, and education of the four Near West neighborhoods. This plan was developed by representatives from each of our four neighborhoods and more than 25 nonprofit, government, and business partners. This plan serves as the road map for making Near West a great place to live, work, and play.
Our vision is for Near West to offer a positive environment that ensures that residents of various income levels are provided the opportunities and tools to build assets, to participate in their neighborhoods, and to become valuable entities for the Indianapolis economy. Near West will be the place where social and economic vitality combine to provide continuous growth and improvement for our neighborhoods.
The Near West Collaborative will continue to: – Implement long-term plans from the Quality of Life plan. – Cultivate a diversity of investment in the Near West to increase collaborative leadership. – Implement creative marketing/branding strategies. – Engage an ever-increasing number of community stakeholders and residents to respond to an ever-changing environment and community.
