See the post from LISC below about a tour of the Great Places in Indy:
You’re invited to join us on Wednesday. Oct. 5 for the Great Places 2020 Bus Tour!
A bus tour visiting each of the Great Places 2020 neighborhoods: Englewood Village, Maple Crossing and River West. There will be speakers on the bus to provide context en route and to answer questions.
Starting in 2015, the Great Places 2020 initiative provided three Indianapolis neighborhoods with urban planning, real estate and marketing consultants to create plans designed to spur growth in each place. In May 2016, Great Places 2020 partners unveiled the strategic plans for each of the Great Places areas. Structuring initial funding sources and strategic programming so that private investment follows, more than $84 million has been committed to the three Great Places from over 50 partners. Investments in each Great Place are organized into four outcomes: Livability, Opportunity, Vitality, Education.
This tour will showcase the progress that has taken place, review current plans and discuss the vision for the future.
This November, Great Places 2020 implementation partners will select two additional places to support four years of implementation of the new Great Places plans. Total investment in all five neighborhoods in 2017 is expected to eclipse $20 million, which includes alignment with the United Way of Central Indiana’s recently announced Great Families 2020 initiative.
Wednesday, Oct. 5. There are two different tour times to choose from:
- 11:00 am – 1:30 pm (lunch included)
- 3:00 – 5:00 pm
Meet at The Platform, 202 East Market Street. Each tour will visit Englewood Village, Maple Crossing and River West before returning to The Platform.
