Design Guidelines for a Near West Indianapolis Urban Village: A Request for Proposal (RFP)

The Westside Community Development Corporation (WCDC), in collaboration with the River West Great Place, the Near West Collaborative, and the City of Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development, invites submissions design guidelines for a Near West urban village in Indianapolis.

The Request for Proposal provides a focus on the project, its deliverables, submission guidelines and selection criteria.  The main objective of our project is to create context-sensitive Village Design Guidelines for both commercial and residential development, to apply to both infill and new construction as well as rehabilitation of existing structures in a variety of urban design contexts from urban village to suburban neighborhood.

While the guidelines are potentially applicable to all of Indianapolis and Marion County, the community engagement and stakeholder process for this project is limited to the case study location of the River West Great Place.

Proposals should specifically address the needs outlined in the attached document and clearly articulate how the proposal solves those needs.

Please note that proposals must be received by close of business on December 2, 2016.

Selected vendors will be chosen to be invited for a proof of concept presentation, and a committee (as described in the RFP) will complete final vendor selection by December 16, 2016.

Please submit any questions via email, by November 16, 2016 to Martha Henn at hennm@iupui.edu.  A response to inquiries and questions will be posted on the Near West Indy website on November 21, 2016.
